Finca Melico is a section of La Minita selected this year for its even, full ripening. The coffee cherries were picked during five days at the peak of the harvest, from January 5 to January 10, 2016.

The beans were then radically sorted down to just 24% of that harvest, with every blemished bean eliminated. This lot is for me the long-awaited return of that great, classic La Minita harking back to the late 1980’s and early 90’s when The Coffee Connection was roasting it as the quality game changer it truly was.

There is no other coffee that I know of as carefully sorted as this one—and the cost and effort involved come through with cups of exemplary clarity and just the lightest, finest grade A maple syrup-tinted pure coffee flavor—touched with barely a wisp of peach. A Central American coffee of pure refined elegance!
