| Which brewing method is best? |
| It depends on personal taste preferences and what the occasion is for. One might drink coffee in the morning one way, in the afternoon another, and in the evening, after a fine meal and desert, yet another. Paper DRIP is very convenient (fast, less mess), makes excellent clean-finish coffee, similar in strength and texture to wine (with the right proportions!), and produces no sediment. Drip brewing with metal filters (preferably gold coated) adds a heavier, slightly sediment-coated body, since oils and sediment are allowed to go through. Some tests, by the way, have shown there may be an association between unfiltered coffee and the production of cholesterol. Next comes FRENCH PRESS, which emphasizes body and sediment still more; this is an ideal demitasse coffee. ESPRESSO brings us to an entirely different world of coffee. When served pure, without milk, an espresso is to drip coffee the way a brandy is to wine. These are only some of the methods to brew for more information see the 7 ways to brew coffee. |
