George Howell Coffee Team
Located 10 miles outside of Boston in Newtonville, MA our first café/coffee lab opened under the George Howell Coffee name in February 2012.
Our coffee of the day changes frequently offering our full range of drip coffees and we always have two espressos on bar—Alchemy and a rotating single-estate. Also a selection of our limited-roast coffees are available, brewed on a Chemex either by hand or using the newest single-cup commercial brewing equipment. Stop in for a coffee of the day, traditional cappuccino or shot of our latest single-estate espresso, and complement with a pastry made by various local Boston bakeries.
We sell our full range of coffee beans, vacuum sealed in nitrogen-flushed 12-ounce bags to guarantee freshness, as well as all the coffee merchandise that we offering them on our web-store. If you are looking to pick up a specific coffee or merchandise, call first for availability as sometimes we sell out before the next delivery from the roastery!
Our Newtonville location is truly our coffee lab. We brew new coffees to gather customer feedback before offering on our webstore and test new coffee equipment and brew methods. Our head barista is often testing extraction of both coffees and espressos using the ExtractMojo—the revolutionary technology funded by George Howell. Results from all this testing is reported back to the roastery and used to perfect our roasting methods, offer new equipment to customers and adjust brew method guides.
